Spotlighting...Sara Burnett



What is your full name?   Sara Elizabeth Weyerman Burnett
Were you named after someone?  Who?  My first name comes from my mom’s best friend in college.
Where were you born?  I was born in Landstuhl, Germany
What is your favorite movie?  One of my favorites is The Wedding Singer.  It’s just a classic comedy.
What is your favorite book? If you choose your favorite book by what I’ve read the most, it has to be Jurassic Park.  I also love Gone with the Wind and Lonesome Dove.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?  Spare time?  What’s that?  I love to run, and try to make time for it though it hasn’t happened much lately.
What is your all-time favorite recipe?  Please share the recipe.  I’ve included more than one :) Cheesecake and Caramel Corn.  I have lots more that I like (Carol’s Crazy Cake, Shortcake, Chicken Ole, and more) but those recipes will have to come at a later time.  If you can’t tell, I have a hard time deciding!
If you only had one day left on Earth, what would you do? I’d probably want to go swimming, hiking, horseback riding, and fishing with my family.
What is your dream car? I love the old woodie station wagons.
Who is one person you think you would be friends with if they lived in our time or you had a chance to meet them?  Why?  I’ve tried and tried, and I just don’t have an answer for this question.
What have you done that makes you proud of yourself? (Don’t be shy, we are happy for your accomplishments and we are asking you to share them)  My greatest accomplishment to date is getting my PR marathon time while I was pregnant with Wyatt.
In your opinion, what is your best physical trait?  My running muscles?
What is your favorite scripture?  Helaman 5:30 is one of my favorites because I love how they describe God’s voice.  Also Alma 43:44-45 - I love how the Lamanites fight like dragons, but the Nephites fight harder because they are fighting “for a better cause.”
What is your favorite RS/Visiting Teaching memory?  I really enjoy opportunities in Visiting Teaching where I actually feel needed.  I’ve had a few of those opportunities with sick sisters or even just lonely sisters.







Spotlighting...Jessica Pitt


What is your full name? Jessica Ann Pitt

Were you named after someone?  Who? No, I just ‘looked like a Jessica.’

Where were you born? Provo, Utah

What is your favorite movie?Singin’ in the Rain

What is your favorite book?  J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis books.

What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? What is that? I like making things for my home, playing hard with the kids, visiting friends, and going out for adventures.

What is your all-time favorite recipe?  German Pancakes (see recipe on spotlight recipe tab)

If you only had one day left on Earth, what would you do? Go camping and on a long hike with my family.

What is your dream car? …Something that can go off-roading, fit all my kids and gear, and parallel park easily. Does that exist?

What have you done that makes you proud of yourself? (Don’t be shy, we are happy for your accomplishments and we are asking you to share them) I am proud of teaching myself to sew and garden. I am proud of having hiked King’s Peak. I am proud of myself every day that I feed and bathe and play with and teach and care for my three children (three and under) without losing my cool.

In your opinion, what is your best physical trait?  I don’t like this question. I’ve learned to like all of me and be grateful for a capable body.

What is your favorite scripture? Alma 39:16

What is your favorite RS/Visiting Teaching memory? When I was in Virginia I taught a sister that really needed me at the time. She has since been sealed to her husband and they moved to Utah a few weeks ago. It’s not so much the memory of meeting her that is sweet, but watching her story unfold.

What is your favorite movie? It’s a Wonderful Life

What is your favorite book? Follow the River, The Hiding Place, Charlie’s Monument, Missing May, Goodnight Moon.

What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? Knit, read, quilt, embroider

What is your all-time favorite recipe?  Please share the recipe. I have tons of “all-time favorites,” but here’s a unique one. I worked with Vietnamese refugees as a caseworker and this was one of my favorite dishes.

If you only had one day left on Earth, what would you do? Hike with my family

What is your dream car? A truck to tow a trailer

Who is one person you think you would be friends with if they lived in our time or you had a chance to meet them?  Why?  This has been a tough one!  Anne Frank.  I think we are both introspective and watchers of people’s behaviors.

What have you done that makes you proud of yourself? (Don’t be shy, we are happy for your accomplishments and we are asking you to share them) I have become a piano teacher.  I did it by lots of practice, reading, and doing.  I’m trying to always evolve as a teacher.

In your opinion, what is your best physical trait? My smile with the dimple

What is your favorite scripture? John 16:33 – “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Milk Conversion Chart



Chicken Parmesan

Ingredients:
1 cup Bread Crumbs (Seasoned- Italian)
1 cup Parmesan Cheese (Kraft- Grated)
1 tsp. Garlic salt or powder
1 cube Butter

Directions:
Melt Butter, Mix all dry ingredients, Dip chicken in butter, Roll in dry mixture.
Place on lined cookie sheet, Bake 350 for 45-50 min for breast or 35-40 min for tenders.
When I want to make it a little fancier, I add fresh grated Parmesan to the dry mix, it looks a little fancier.
