What is your full name? Shaurie Coleman
Were you named after someone? Who? Yes, my mom’s cousins name is Sharie and her dad named her that after hearing it on his mission in Sweden. When she asked him if she could use it he said yes but told her to put a “u” in it so people would pronounce it right! (they still never do… haha)
Where were you born? Payson, Utah
What is your favorite movie? My most favorite recent one is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, it made me want to go on some more adventures! I love that kind of stuff.
What is your favorite book? I loved The Giver.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? I love camping and hiking! And traveling, I have a whole list of humanitarian trips I would like to go on! Also I just like talking to people, friends, strangers, family, nothing is better than a long talk with someone
What is your all-time favorite recipe? Please share the recipe. Right now I’m just trying to learn how to sustain my life on my mission…. I can NOT cook whatsoever.
If you only had one day left on Earth, what would you do? Wake up early and go on a hike to watch the sun rise and then spend the day with family and friends, maybe fly somewhere fun
What is your dream car? This might sounds lame but if I could have any car I would want one of those old Bronco’s like the boxy ones with the big round headlights. Goll I love those I want one to go on a million road trips in.
Who is one person you think you would be friends with if they lived in our time or you had a
chance to meet them? Why? I love Majorie Pay Hinckley. She was the perfect balance of being so sweet and humble but at the same time she was such a fireball. She wasn’t afraid of being herself and letting people know her thoughts. I strive for that
What have you done that makes you proud of yourself? (Don’t be shy, we are happy for your accomplishments and we are asking you to share them) I guess I’m most proud of the service clubs I’ve been a part of as well as going to Mexico to build houses with rotary. I will always be proud of being a part of Utah Ambassadors of Music and the experiences I had with them. The last thing is preparing for my mission, I feel like I’ve come a long way and I’m so excited to become better and better throughout my mission.
In your opinion, what is your best physical trait? My long legs I guess. I used to HATE them when I was younger because they made me look like an awkward baby giraffe, but I grew into them and now I love them
What is your favorite scripture? Moroni 10: 3-5 I’ve had so many self-conversion experiences with this scripture and over time it has become my go-to when I need help. It reminds me that my Lord is merciful and he cares, we just need to be sincere, do our best, and talk to him.
What is your favorite RS/Visiting Teaching moment? All of them, we have the best ward in the world!! I’ll miss you guys in Canada, I’ll send lots of pictures
